Both of my grandmothers loved gardening, but I did not understand until having my own garden. 

Painting flowers was a good way for me to express feelings I tend to keep to myself. My upbringing led me to focus on the happiness of others, so no one sees or hears my concerns. However, my painting allows my true emotions to come through.

Bright colors express joy for me.

The pastels are soft and comforting to me, or maybe my shyness is there.

And with all of today's worries about child safety. paintings of whole fields of flowers create a big protective garden of love and hope.
